ก่อนเลือกวิธี Migration ต้องตรวจสอบ Compatibility ของ SCMT กับ Source Platform, OS, File System และ Application บทความนี้สรุปตาราง Compatibility ที่ต้องรู้ก่อน Migration
ข้อกำหนดเบื้องต้น (Prerequisites)
- ข้อมูล Version ของ VMware/Platform ต้นทาง
- ข้อมูล OS และ File System ของ Source VM
- ข้อมูลลักษณะ Application (Standalone/Cluster)
Platform Compatibility (สำหรับ Agentless Migration)
SCMT Agentless Migration รองรับการย้าย VM จาก VMware vSphere ไปยัง Sangfor HCI:
- VMware vSphere 5.5
- VMware vSphere 6.0
- VMware vSphere 6.5
- VMware vSphere 6.7
- VMware vSphere 7.0
- VMware vSphere 8.0
ฝั่ง Destination: HCI 6.0.0 R5, 6.3.0 และใหม่กว่า รองรับการสร้าง Destination VM อัตโนมัติและ Install vmTools หลัง Migration สำหรับ HCI Version อื่นต้องสร้าง Destination VM และ Load Bare Metal Restore ISO ด้วยตนเอง
ข้อยกเว้น: Agentless Migration ไม่รองรับ VM ที่ใช้ RDM Disk, Independent Disk หรือ Network Card Pass-through หากมีกรณีเหล่านี้ให้ใช้ Agent-based Migration แทน
OS Compatibility (สำหรับ Agent-based Migration)
- รองรับ Windows และ Linux 32/64-bit Operating Systems
- File System ที่รองรับ: ext2, ext3, ext4, xfs, FAT, FAT32, NTFS, ReFS
- File Device Format ที่รองรับ: LVM, GPT, MBR, Dynamic Volume, Spanned Volume, Striped Volume
Business Compatibility
- ไม่รองรับ Migration ของ Cluster Application เช่น Oracle RAC, SQL Server Failover Cluster
- รองรับเฉพาะ Standalone Application
- ไม่รองรับ Migration ของ RDS Database, Container Platform (Docker, Kubernetes) และ Big Data Platform
การตรวจสอบ (Verification)
- ตรวจสอบ Version ของ VMware ว่าอยู่ในรายการที่รองรับ
- ตรวจสอบ OS และ File System ของ Source VM
- ยืนยันว่า Application ที่จะย้ายเป็น Standalone
- หากมีส่วนที่ไม่รองรับ ให้เลือกวิธี Migration อื่นหรือปรับ Configuration ก่อน
หมายเหตุ
- สำหรับรายละเอียด Compatibility ที่ละเอียดกว่านี้ ให้ดู SCMT Compatibility List อย่างเป็นทางการ
- หาก VM มี RDM หรือ Independent Disk ให้ Convert เป็น Dependent Mode ก่อนทำ Agentless Migration หรือใช้ Agent-based
- Cluster Database ต้องให้ DBA มืออาชีพดำเนินการ Data Plane Migration แยก
